International Council- Paris, France
Under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul, Frederic Ozanam, our founder, established the first conference in 1833.
 

1845
St. Vincent de Paul US Council – St. Louis, Missouri.
The first conference in the United States was established.

1913
St. Vincent de Paul Archdiocesan Council – Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The first conference in Wisconsin was established in Milwaukee in 1913. The Waukesha District Council is one of 9 District Councils in the Milwaukee Archdiocese.

1931
The first conference in Waukesha County was established at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the City of Waukesha.

1953
A building on Main St. in the city of Waukesha was donated to St. Vincent de Paul to house all of the donations. Parish conference groups and this building provided the foundation to establish the Waukesha District Council

1954
Articles of Incorporation were filed with the State of Wisconsin.

2017
Growth of the Waukesha District Council has continued with each decade. Currently the Waukesha District Council is comprised of 24 conferences, the
St. Dismas Jail Ministry, and the Getting Ahead mentoring program.

For more than 64 years St. Vincent de Paul has had a presence in Waukesha County neighborhoods assisting people in need. Whether offering food and meals in the fight against hunger, keeping people in their homes or warm during the winter months or to comfort to those who are alone, our more than 600 volunteers live their faith in service to others.
